At her Quezon City home, single mom Jennylyn Mercado tries her best to create a life worth living for her family and the most important man in her life, son Alex Jazz.

The living room was decorated by Jen who has an inclination toward the arts. Foregoing her girly taste, Jen chose a masculine sectional sofa. The key piece, however, is the red version of the iconic Egg chair by the Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen.

The glass dining table evokes an architectural statement for its circular lines, echoed by the chairs' sinuous backs. A turn-of-the-century chandelier provides instant illumination.

Jen's place of refuge, the master bedroom features a bluish gray tone, sheer fabric for curtains, and a huge bed covered with funky linens. Here, Jen is usually found sketching, painting, watching TV, or surfing the Internet.

Initial ultrasound revealed that Jen was carrying a girl that's why she painted painted the room salmon. But when succeeding tests revealed that the gender of the child was male, Jen wasted no time in filling the child's room with toys, books, and educational materials for boys.
