I’ve always been a fan of tween star Bea Binene. Although some people see her as an overenthusiastic and super-bubbly teenager who is eager to please everyone, I admire how sunny and positive her disposition is, especially for someone who is in an industry that can make you feel bad about a lot of things—especially about yourself. During interviews and events, her aura is always light and refreshing, and she always has a smile on her face. She seems to be intelligent, too; she is opinionated and eloquent. And she seems to be a pretty nice and well-grounded girl, despite the family problems she’s been dealing with (her father left them).

Apart from being a fan of her personality, I also admire her talents when it comes to performing. She is a very engaging dancer: she doesn’t hold back every time she has a production number. And I am a fan of her acting skills, too. I saw some episodes of her TV shows (Tween Hearts and Pahiram Ng Isang Ina) and without any bias, I have to say that not only does she get to convincingly portray the roles assigned to her, she also shows a lot of potential as an actress. I am very excited to see her performances 10 years from now—I’m sure she’ll still be in the industry then.

So considering her impressive acting skills, there is no wonder why she was given her latest program, Alice Bungisngis, by GMA 7. This fantaserye is perfect for Bea. It’s exciting; it’s light but it has its drama and “api” moments, too. I can’t wait to see her shine in this project.

Alice Bungisngis also stars a lot of other actors, from the ever-pretty and ever-talented Jean Garcia and the funny Janno Gibbs (who is making his acting comeback via the show) to Buboy Garovillo (who was an effective father the last time he appeared on a GMA show: Diva) and the very beautiful Ana Roces.
