FANBOY BY MARK SABLAN If you regularly watch programs on GMA 7, then you must have already seen one or more of their fun Christmas plugs, which I have to say are quite good. For starters, it’s nice that the songs are fun, catchy and short. It’s also brilliant how they made different versions for most of their programs. For example, the showbiz-oriented talk show Startalk has its own, featuring hosts Joey de Leon, Lolit Solis, Butch Francisco, and even Ricky Lo singing along to the jingle while holding props. There is also one for Munting Heredera, the engaging primetime series. Strangely, everyone is part of the plug except for the munting heredera herself: Mona Louise Rey aka Jennifer on the show. I guess they were rushing the taping and since most of the cast were there, they decided to push through with it even if the bida wasn’t around. My favorites would have to be the one for Showbiz Central, which features a very uncomfy and awkward-looking Raymond Gutierrez (who decided he didn’t want to sing along to the song—but with a smile); and the one for Amaya, where Marian Rivera starts the jingle off with a confused look. Also scene-stealing in the Amaya Christmas plug is Sheena Halili who upon closer inspection looked like was suffering from a wardrobe malfunction. I hope her tube top really just had a detail that looked like a nipple. Watch the other versions on the YouTube account of GMA 7 HERE.
