FANBOY BY MARK SABLAN PHOTO FROM AMERICANIDOL.COM Remember Ramiele Malubay? You know, the Pinay finalist in American Idol Season 7? We haven’t heard from her lately. Fortunately for fans, she has a YouTube account containing videos: from greetings and vlogs to covers, of course. While she doesn’t really upload stuff regularly, she just posted a couple of videos the past few months. Her latest one is a version of Erykah Badu’s “Love of My Life”—something very unexpected if you’ll remember her song choices in the popular talent search. Nevertheless, she does a good job with the song, her voice fitting the vibe of the track. She also has a rendition of Adele’s “Someone Like You”, which is perfect for her. Singing it after getting her voice back (she lost it for a whole month!), Ramiele sounds different from how she sounded like back in AI—which is a good thing. It’s a reminder that you don’t necessarily have to hit the high notes or belt it out just to be a good singer. Her version is so commendable she could have placed so much higher if she got to sing this song back in AI. You should by now that I am a fan.
