I haven’t seen any of the entries to the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival. I am a loser that way.
And I don’t want to be a loser anymore because there’s a lot of interesting choices this year.
Enteng ng Ina Mo promises to be a laugh trip, considering how Bossing Vic Sotto and Ai-ai de las Alas are teaming up for this one.
Panday 2 seems to have great visual effects, basing on its trailer. I’m sure it’d be even more amazing when watched in the moviehouse.
Segunda Mano boasts of two big names: Kris Aquino and Diether Ocampo. But I want to watch it just to hear Kristeta’s patented horrible scream. After all, she once was called the Massacre Queen, thanks to all those movie roles that had her screaming before she got “massacred”.
My Househusband: Ikaw Na also boasts of two big names: Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos. The fact that it stars a real-life couple is very interesting. Oh, and Eugene Domingo is also part of the cast, so it’s sure to be a riot.
And then there’s Shake, Rattle and Roll 13. Watching Shake, Rattle and Roll is a yearly thing—no excuses.
Also looking promising is the flick Manila Kingpin: The Untold Story of Asiong Salonga. This period film, basing on the trailer, seems to have a great production team behind it, and some intriguing casting choices, too.
Last but not the least, there is Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, which is teeming with quotable quotes and several plots and characters. But I’m watching it just because of Dennis Trillo.
Now you have to excuse me. I need to cut this short and head to the cinema.
