BY MARK SABLAN Had enough of revivals? Hope not, because YouTube sensations Krissy & Ericka are back with more of them (care of their new album called Twelve:Fifty One)—and they’re actually good! Released by MCA Music Inc., the album has covers of popular hits like Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”, Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night”, Taylor Swift’s “Back to December”, and Far East Movement’s “Rocketeer”. They even have a cover of the Eric Clapton original “Change the World”. Don’t fret if you’re not a fan of covers, because the duo’s sophomore album has some originals, too. “We added more originals to it, which I think is great because we really think OPM is great,” Krissy says. Some of the original songs in the album are “Rewind” (a duet with Fil-Am musician/internet celebrity AJ Rafael), “In Your Arms”, and the title track, “12:51”. “I wrote this two years ago about a boy who I thought liked me back, but obviously, that didn’t work out,” Krissy shares. “Turns out he was really into some other girl. So it was really an emotional song for me.” Adds Ericka, “Many girls can relate to this heartbreak love story and that’s why I think a lot of people love this song as well.” There is a lot of pressure on and expectations from these girls. This is their second album, after all, and people can’t wait to see if it will perform better than their debut album released in 2009. This new album has also been released in Singapore and Malaysia, and will be out in Indonesia and Thailand—so it’s exciting to see what our Asian neighbors think of the duo and their new album.
