In April, the Bureau of Internal Revenue filed a tax evasion case against her. In October, a fire started in her condo unit. Her relationship with director GB Sampedro also ended. Daiana commented on this series of unfortunate events on the GMA talk show Startalk last February 18. On her issue with the BIR, the Eat Bulaga! mainstay said, “It wasn't my fault totally. I'm not like totally defending myself, but I just wanna use it as a sample for those who are not paying their taxes. Na dapat naman talaga you have to check yourself. Kasi nga, parang... ako, I just believed lang on my former manager, who apparently wasn't taking care of my taxes and then iyon yung nangyari." As for her love life, Daiana said that it “will be resting” this year. “No more na... trauma!” she said. “Ano ba naman, imagine, di ba, you're supposed to get married, hindi natuloy. Of course, it's a traumatic experience so for me, rest na lang muna yung puso ni Daiana.” Despite all these heartbreaking challenges, Daiana remains strong, focused on her career, and a big fan of the Philippines. “Actually, I had an offer naman to go back to Brazil and then to host a show there and start a career there,” she shared. “Pero ano ba? After all I've gone through here in the Philippines, after you know, like becoming... I'm a Filipina. You know, feeling-Pinay na ako, eh. I have my visa, my working visa, I already paid my duties, you know. And I love working in Eat Bulaga! every single day. I love the Filipinos, I learned the language. Bakit naman babalik ako dun sa Brazil? So, I'd rather na lang stay here kasi ang puso ko is Pinoy.” What does not kill Daiana makes her stronger!
